Red, White, and Blue Pie Bars

1 Mixing Bowl
1 9x13 pan
- 1/2 Lb Butter
- 1 C Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 Eggs
- 2 C Flour
- 1 C Walnuts optional
- 3/4 C Blueberry Pie Filling
- 3/4 C Cherry Pie Filling
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar
Add vanilla
Add eggs, 1 at a time
Stir in flour until combined
Add nuts if using and distribute throughout the batter.
Spread 3/4 of the batter into a greased 9/13 pan. Cover half the batter with cherry pie filling. Cover the other half of the batter with blueberry pie filling. Drop the remaining batter by spoonfuls over the top of the pie filling. Spread the batter out with a spatula. Make sure you can see the pie filling through the batter.
Bake for 45 minutes
Cool for at least 2 hours and cut into squares
