Small Porch Christmas Decor
I don’t know about you, but I love looking at how people have decorated their homes for Christmas. Our porch is small, but I wanted it to be a welcoming space with some cheery Christmas decor. This year, I am mostly using things I own to decorate our small porch for Christmas.
Ever since we moved here, I have had so much fun decorating our small front porch for the different seasons. This Christmas is no exception! Our house is a gray/blue color with tan trim. I decided to use traditional reds and greens in our outdoor Christmas décor. Call me old fashioned, but I love it!
To begin, I tried to use things that I already had. I started with the floor of the porch and worked my way up adding pieces to create a festive look. I layered a red and white striped rug with a ‘Oh Hello’ welcome mat. The rugs were the perfect size for this small space.
I previously purchased this Christmas outdoor decorating kit from Wal-Mart. I decided not to use the garland on the front of the house but used the pre-lit 3-foot trees that were included. The trees were placed in two white crocks. I think they look cheery with the rugs!
To the left of the porch, I added a red bench that I found at a local antique shop. Under the bench there is an older galvanized planter. I planned to put our ice melt in this, but the bottom broke, so I just left it there for decor.
On the bench I added an enamelware pan with red trim. Inside I placed pinecones and red berries. I ended up finding this tree and putting it in there too. Finally, to tie in the galvanized planter I placed a smaller tree inside a Merry Christmas galvanized bucket.
To the right of the porch, I put in a PEACE sign that I made years ago. You could create your own or purchase a holiday leaner from multiple stores. Here is a link to one that I also love.
This year I purchased a wreath from my best friend’s business – Planted Posies. She handcrafts these wreaths and I love the Farmhouse look it adds to the porch.
If I could encourage you to find what you already have and put it together to create a fun and cheerful look to decorate your small porch for Christmas. You do not need to buy all new decor or break the bank to create a festive space that is welcoming and merry.
Finally, here is a photo of everything all lit up at night.
