Rudolph the Reindeer Movie Party
A Little Back Story on the Rudolph Movie Party
The 1964 classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer has been a family favorite of ours since I can remember. For the last few years my sister and I have had movie themed parties for our kids at Christmas time. There are so many great ones! This year I decided to host a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer movie party for my family.

My Dad passed away earlier this year. He absolutely loved Christmas and the tradition of watching Christmas movies. Rudolph was one of his very favorites. This year has been really hard without him, so I wanted to honor his memory by having this little movie party to watch his favorite Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
The Party Plans
I’m a sucker for a theme. Are you? First thing is always first whenever there is a party – what will we eat?! I mean, that’s of course what I worry about first! I went with a festive movie named theme for everyday food we always eat. Dinner was a slow cooker pot roast with carrots and potatoes. Naturally, I called it Hermey’s Herby Pot Roast, Yukon Cornelius’ Potatoes, and Mrs. Claus’ Carrots. Homemade Misfit biscuits were served on the side with butter and homemade strawberry jam.

For dessert I decided on cupcakes. A while ago I saw @NeuroticMom make these adorable reindeer cupcakes. I ended up purchasing a Reindeer kit from Wilton to decorate white cupcakes with chocolate frosting. For some of the noses I substituted red gum drops.

My favorite part of this meal was the Bumble Cupcakes. I found a tutorial for these donuts from Party Pinching. I decided instead of using donuts I would make white cupcakes with coconut frosting. They turned out so cute!

We served Grandma’s Chex Mix with the movie. You can find that recipe here.

Rudolph the Reindeer Movie Party – Festive Touches
Naturally, to drink there had to be a festive beverage. Since this was for the kids Rudolph’s Root Beer was served. We dressed up root beer pop bottles with pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and red pompoms.

Fun additions to this party included red blinking noses from the dollar store and this adorable free printable banner from Moms and Munchkins. I almost bought reindeer ears too but settled on the blinking noses. They were a hit!

If you find yourself missing someone this holiday season, please know I am there with you and I know how hard it is. I would encourage you to remember them in a special way this Christmas and every day. Much love to you!
