Simple and Lovely Spring Tablescape Idea
Spring is finally here according to the calendar. We can never be too sure of its arrival here in New York. In fact, as I type this it’s currently snowing. Ugh. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some warmer temps and sunshine. Even though it does not look like Spring outside, I brought it inside and created a simple and lovely Spring tablescape. If you are looking for ideas for Easter, Mother’s Day, or just because read on for my easy idea.
To begin, I decided on a color theme. What is more Spring-like than pastel blues, greens, pinks, and yellows? For this tablescape I decided on pinks and whites. Pink is my favorite color and I try to incorporate it into my decor whenever possible.
To cover the table, I started with a plain white tablecloth. Other options to cover your table would be decorative placemats or a festive table runner. Then, add coordinating napkins that provide a pop of color or have a fun pattern. Have fun with it!
Speaking of napkins, I found these great pink napkins from Wal-Mart. They were the perfect color and sheen. I folded them in thirds and tied a matching striped ribbon in a bow. To top it off a single white tulip was added.
Admittedly, pink tulips are my absolute favorite. I wanted to incorporate them into this tablescape. They are a simple, lovely, and Spring tablescape addition . I purchased a few bouquets of fresh tulips and placed them in coordinating vases on the table. I used pink and white to tie it all together.
Truth be told, I prefer a less cluttered table. In my opinion, it is nice to have room to eat without feeling overwhelmed by all the decor on the table. We served dinner buffet style, so the dishes stayed in the kitchen.
I love decorating our home. It took us years to get to the point of having this house on our property and I love nothing more than making it feel homey and welcoming. Here is one example. When creating a tablescape for gatherings try to incorporate what you already have. Not only is it cost effective, but you are also not wasting or hoarding piles of home decor in your home.
